Their personality, actions, traits, assets, it's all clothing. We can either see their clothes and think that's all there is. Or we can recognize that within them dwells a spark of HaShem which is infinite in every way.
As we know, any finite quantity interacting with infinity becomes insignificant. Beauty, wealth, humor, wisdom. None of these things can quantify the infinite soul that dwells within each person.
May we all have eyes open to seeing this. This is at the heart of all the lessons of bitul, of negation of ego, but it is impossible to internalize, except through prayer after prayer after prayer.
