The Noam Elimelech explains that there are two kinds of divine Kindness, hidden and revealed. Hidden kindness is referred to as brains or intellect, (מוחין) revealed kindness is referred to as 'shoulders' (שכם) because it sticks out and is a lot more broad.
Avraham, the father of what is today known as Judaism, was all about bringing hidden kindness down to the level of revelation. That's the true meaning of the passage above: boker/morning is another name for 'Kindness' -- Avraham was always involved in bringing boker/Kindness to the level of שכם - shoulders/revelation.
