I'm going to use my over-generalizing brain to share a specific insight. I've been reading a lot of Blogs by people who are no longer religious Jews. Mainly these people were chareidi. I have a brother who is very black and white, while I am entirely shades of grey and have always been. I never got so much insight into the Chareidi community as I did from the blogs of these people who couldn't hack it. Anyways this is my insight:
The souls who are involved in torat ha nigleh are souls entirely involved in fixing the sin of the tree of knowledge.
The souls who are involved in torat ha nistar are souls entirely involved in fixing the shattering of the vessels during the creation.
Maybe I'm wrong. But it's an interesting thing to consider.
