Apparently paper is accumulating in landfills and though it is bio-degradable, it doesn't degrade as quickly as the landfills are filling--so scientists are working on designer chemicals that will cause paper to break down more quickly.. i guess as long as it's chemical by nature and not biological there's no fear of this solution running rampant and consuming all of earth's forests.. but still, some 'designer chemical' ?!?.. don't people always lecture kids about how a tooth will practically dissolve if left in a cup of coke overnight.. well, coke is cheap and plentiful, why not use it to break down paper--problem solved. unless you are going to tell me that teeth are more bio-degradeable than paper ???
